On November 4, Daejeon-si announced that it has been selected for the "Region+end 50+" project, a regional specialization project by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS).
Region+end 50+is a project that the MSS launched this year to foster leading local companies (anchor companies).
With the project to "support self-reliance and advance innovation of Daejeon's major industries" selected, Daejeon-si will receive a total of KRW 23.885 billion in state funds over the next three years.
The city aims to build the foundation for self-reliance of materials, parts, and equipment companies in the semiconductor field and strengthen new technologies through convergence of bio and AI technologies.
It also plans to support export vouchers, commercialization funds, and R&D to advance digital innovation.
An official from Daejeon-si said, "We will strengthen the semiconductor industry ecosystem and foster next-generation bio companies."
