Daejeon-si and W-Water signed a framework agreement to create Digital Water Industry Valley

On December 23, Daejeon-si signed a framework agreement with Daedeok-gu and the Korea Water Resources Corporation (K-Water) for successful creation of the "Daejeon Digital Water Industry Valley" to be built in Sindae District.

Under the agreement, the city and the county will be in charge of administrative support necessary for attracting companies, resolving civil complaints and infrastructure, while the K-Water will be in charge of implementing administrative procedures such as preliminary feasibility studies and designation of R&D special zones to create industrial complexes and building the industrial complex.

Daejeon Digital Water Industry Valley, which will be a base for innovative growth in the water industry, will be built in Sindae-dong, Daedeok-gu with a size of 315,000㎡ (about 95,000 pyeong).

The K-Water has conducted a feasibility study service since 2022, and plans to apply for a preliminary feasibility study in the first half of next year and go ahead with construction starting from 2028.

The city plans to designate the Water Industry Valley as a Daedeok R&D Special Zone and work towards creating as an attractive industrial complex for companies.
