According to Yonhap News,

Daejeon-si and the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) held the opening ceremony of the "KAIST and MIT Quantum Information Winter Camp" at the KAIST Academic Culture Center on January 6.

The camp is a program joined by quantum professors from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and KAIST, which are globally renowned for quantum information science, and was organized for the second time since last year to induce interest in quantum and provide specialized quantum education opportunities for Korean science and engineering students.

This year's program will be held starting today until January 17th for 40 undergraduate 3rd and 4th graders interested in quantum information science.

It introduces experiments in leading fields such as quantum communication, sensing, computing, and simulators, and provides courses where students can learn the technical limits of current quantum technology, countermeasures, and future visions.

Since last year, Daejeon-si has focused on fostering talents in quantum technology innovation through a KAIST's quantum graduate school support project.
