Daejeon-si has announced its detailed plan to create 55,223 jobs this year.

According to Daejeon-si on April 3rd, it has established and announced a detailed plan for job creation under the 2025 regional job target disclosure system, aimed at realizing the vision of "Daejeon, a first-class economic city where businesses, people, and jobs come to join."

The plan includes five core strategies, 12 key initiatives, and 169 sub-projects. A total of KRW 326.8 billion will be invested to create 55,223 jobs, with the goal of achieving an employment rate (for ages 15-64) of 67.2%.

The main directions for the plan include: Focusing on creating jobs that are preferred by young people, building an employment ecosystem that supports job retention and regional settlement; Strengthening employment services to alleviate mismatches in the labor market; Creating high-quality jobs by fostering new industries, and; Transitioning from a service-oriented industrial structure to an advanced industry-focused structure.

A Daejeon official stated, "Despite the challenges of a declining working-age population and tough economic conditions, we will focus all our efforts on revitalizing the Daejeon economy and creating citizen-centered jobs. We will actively push forward practical policies to ensure that young people can securely work and settle in the region."
