According to Newsis,
(Daejeon = NEWSIS) Reporter Jo Myeong-hui -- Daejeon City announced on the 7th that Mayor Lee Jang-woo met with Christopher Skeete, Quebec's Minister for the Economy, Innovation and Energy, to discuss practical cooperation measures between the two local governments.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed the progress of joint research initiatives launched following Quebec's accession to the Global Innovative Network of Industry (GINI) last year. They also discussed further collaboration in key high-tech sectors, including quantum technology, aerospace, semiconductors, and biotechnology.
This meeting was arranged as a follow-up to the research innovation agreement signed between Daejeon City and Quebec during Mayor Lee’s visit to the Canadian province last June. Minister Skeete, who visited Korea to discuss a Canadian submarine project, led a five-member delegation, including the Vice President of Investissement Québec and the Representative of the Québec Government Office in Seoul.
"I find it encouraging that the bond formed last year has now developed into unwavering trust," said Minister Skeete. "Starting with joint research in space and quantum fields, I look forward to our two regions becoming strong partners sharing scientific and economic achievements within the global platform of GINI."
