(Daejeon = Yonhap News) Reporter Park Ju-young — On the 30th, Daejeon City signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for corporate investment attraction with SBTL Advanced Materials in the City Hall conference room.
Headquartered in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, SBTL Advanced Materials is a developer and manufacturer of aluminum pouch films for secondary batteries. The company was previously selected by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy as a leading operator for stabilizing the supply chain in the pouch film sector.
SBTL Advanced Materials plans to invest approximately KRW 321 billion in a new facility within the Pyeongchon Industrial Complex in Seo-gu, which is expected to contribute to the creation of around 350 jobs.
The agreement includes provisions for administrative and financial support from Daejeon City to ensure smooth investment and business operations, as well as mutual cooperation plans for creating new employment and developing the local economy.
Mayor Lee Jang-woo stated, "I am grateful to the company for choosing Daejeon as its growth partner despite difficult economic conditions. We will spare no effort in supporting the company so that it can grow stably after making such a bold investment based on its belief in Daejeon's potential."
The Pyeongchon Industrial Complex in Seo-gu is scheduled for completion at the end of this September, with a current occupancy pre-sale rate of approximately 37 percemt.
