(Daejeon=Yonhap News) Reporter Kim Jun-ho = The Daedeok Innopolis Headquarters under the Korea Research and Development Innopolis Foundation announced on the 31st that it will run the 'Daedeok Innopolis Deep-Tech Startup & Investment Activation Week' in connection with the '2026 Startup Korea Investment Week (SIW)' held in Gung-dong, Yuseong-gu, Daejeon, from September 1 to 3.

SIW is a startup investment event hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) and Daejeon Metropolitan City, and organized by the Daejeon Center for Creative Economy & Innovation, to support investment attraction and growth for startups outside the Capital region.

In the investment and startup activation sector, the headquarters will operate 'Deep-Tech IR' and a 'Deep-Tech Startup Competition' to connect promising deep-tech firms within Daedeok Innopolis with investors.

Through investment briefings and investor consultations, companies will explore funding opportunities. The top two enterprises selected in the startup competition will receive approximately KRW 10 million (USD 7,500) each in commercialization funds, alongside investment opportunities of up to KRW 1 billion (USD 750,000).

A 'Deep-Tech Startup Performance Sharing Conference' involving all five major special research and development zones—Daedeok, Gwangju, Daegu, Busan, and Jeonbuk—will also be held to share planned startup achievements and discuss collaborative strategies for activating investment across special zones.

During the event, a 'Mobile Special Zone Counseling Office' will be set up on the 1st floor of Daejeon Startup Park to provide on-site consultations regarding special zone systems—such as research institute enterprises and advanced technology firms—as well as support programs and tenancy.

Moon-taek Lim, Head of Daedeok Innopolis Headquarters, stated, "For the growth of deep-tech companies, connecting with investors, markets, and global partners is just as vital as technological capability," adding, "We will continue field-centered support so that Daedeok Innopolis companies can expand opportunities for investment, technological cooperation, and global market expansion."
