According to Yonhap News,

(DAEGU=Yonhap News) Cosmetics and beauty supply companies in Daegu are making inroads in growing markets of Southeast Asia by entering into a series of export contracts at a beauty industry exhibition held in Thailand.

Beauty companies based in Daegu collectively had 70 consultations and landed export contracts worth around USD 550,000 at the 'K-Beauty Expo Bangkok 2016' held for four days from Sep 22, 2016.

Following the signing of the agreements, four Daegu-based firms will export cosmetic products and beauty supplies to companies in Vietnam, Thailand and China.

"For Korea, Thailand serves as a hub of Southeast Asia's export markets which exhibited 40% growth in the first half of this year," said Kim Mi-ryeo, head of the Korean Medicine Industry Support Center in the Daegu Techno Park. "Winning export deals well shows Korean cosmetic products are highly competitive."
