The National Robot Test Field
  • Period / Cost: 2024 - 2028 /KRW 229.85 billion (government funding of KRW 205.35 bn, city funding of 52 bn, and private investment of KRW 42.47 bn)
  • Supervision Institution: Korea Evaluation Institute Of Industrial Technology at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE)
  • Project content: Robot demonstration technology development, Data linkage & utilization technology development, and establishment & management of the demonstration infrastructure
Attracting Global Innovation Special Zone
  • Securing an opportunity to enter and preoccupy the global robot market though the "Global Innovation Special Zone" designation
    * Innovation Special Zone : it constitutes an extended concept of regulation-free special zone and, if designated, the city is provided with tax benefits and support for R&D and infrastructure
  • Building business-accumulated infrastructure, ramping up special regulations (e.g. tax credit) , Providing fund and capital support, etc.
Development of Technology Tailored to Growing Demands for Delivery and Risk-Aversion
  • Setting up Autonomous Mobility Robot (AMR) ultra wide band (Daegu, Gyeongbuk) support system
    * (MOTIE) designated contest (Jan. 2023)
  • Remote-control robot technology support in case of fire or disaster
    * (MSIT) contest and designation (the first half of 2023)

Promoting Regulation-Free Zone for Mobile Cooperative Robots

  • Duration / Location : 2020 - Jul. 2024 / 14 places including Technopolis (8.3㎢)
  • Project cost : KRW 25.6 bin (government funding of KRW 15.6 bln, city funding of KRW 15.6 bln and private funding of KRW 3.3 bln)
  • Special zone selection (Jul. 2020) and cooperation of four large homegrown companies in robotics industry (Hyundai, LG, Hanhwa, Doosan) (MOU and lunching ceremony in Nov. 2020)
  • Participation of 18 enterprises and institutions / Development of robots for cooperative transfer, logistics, and rehabilitation, and demonstration model & Support for commercialization
    ☞ Granted with Korea's first temporary permits in the robotics industry (Nov. 2022) (allowing the commercialization outside of the special zones)
