Daegu and Tesla to Work Together for Future Car Industry

(DAEGU=Yonhap News) Daegu Metropolitan Government announced that a team of provincial officials led by the City Mayor Kwon Young-jin and executives at Tesla Motors agreed on mutual cooperation for development of the future car industry.




The team of delegates from Daegu met Tesla's executives at the The Tesla Factory in Fremont, California on January 5 to discuss ways for future cooperation.

Tesla will also send the head of its Asia Pacific Office to Daegu on January 18 to work on detailed cooperation roadmap.

In addition, the automaker will positively consider sending staff and providing technology consultation for Daegu's future car exhibition scheduled in November 2017. It also pledged to provide consulting services to research institutes in Daegu.

Deagu will help promote sales of Tesla and make efforts to establish high-speed charging stations exclusive to exclusive to cars produced from the automaker. The city will serve as a test bed for the company's electric vehicles as well.
