According to Newsis News,

(DAEGU=Newsis News) Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology (DGIST) announced April 17 that it has launched a TAG Accelerating Program that helps startups grow into global companies by offering support to strengthen technological competence, attract investment, and enter global markets.

The TAG Accelerating Program aims at finding startups in intelligence machinery fields categorized as new growth industries (e.g., electronics, IT, machinery, materials), and enhancing their technological competence and global competitiveness.

Late last year, DGIST signed a business agreement with U.S. venture capital firm Greenpoint Asset Management, through which local startups were given the opportunity to participate in the accelerating program Benchlab at M-WERC (Midwest Energy Research Consortium, operated by the state government of Wisconsin)for 6 weeks (from Oct. 16 to Nov. 20), receiving business advice, networking with U.S. companies, and attracting investment.

DGIST has also formed a consortium with POSCO Capital, Korea Institute of Robot and Convergence (KIRO), Greenpoint Asset Management, Mirae Holdings and Daegu Bank, to offer mentoring support to startups in strategy development, marketing, investment, and sales and distribution.
