(ULSAN=Yonhap News) On June 3, Daegu City announced it will host the 2023 International Studies Association (ISA) Asia Pacific Regional Studies Conference.

The ISA Asia Pacific Region has a 60-year history and studies areas including regional development, city planning, business, policy, industrial infrastructure development, transportation and the environment.

The 28th ISA Asia-Pacific Regional Studies Conference will be held in 2023 and more than 400 participants from 20 countries will attend.

The reasons for the host city selection can be attributed to the hard work put in by the Korean Regional Science Association and the organized promotional support provided by the city of Daegu, Daegu Conventional Bureau and the Korea Tourism Organization.

A city official stated, "We hope to spark active discussions on how to foster new-growth industries and we will work to not miss anything as we prepare for the event."
