Daegu City to open a joint exhibition booth at the Consumer Electronics Show in the U.S.

(DAEGU=Yonhap News) Daegu City will operate a joint exhibition booth at the "CES 2019" held from 8th to 11th this month in Las Vegas, the U.S., to help local companies' advancement into foreign markets.

According to the city on 3rd of January, 39 companies including SMEs, ventures and startups will participate in the event with the joint exhibit booth and knock on the doors of the world market.

At the joint exhibit booth, SMEs, ventures and smart city companies will demonstrate technologies in various fields such as smart city, future automobiles, IoT, robotics, AI, VR and drones.

At the world's biggest electronics and IT expo, the city will check the latest technologies and the international trend and discuss with global companies in the fields of smart homes, future automobiles, 5G to help local companies' advancement into foreign markets.

Also, the city plans to hold a conference on the theme of reciprocal growth between Daegu City and Gyeongbuk Province, and will discuss ways for the mutual growth.

30 people from the "Fourth Industrial Revolution Youth Group," a group composed of students from local universities and local youth entrepreneurs to help them attain hands-on experience of the latest technologies as well as with their entrepreneurship and overseas advancement, will attend the event and have meetings with companies' CEOs and mentors.

Daegu City attended the event for 7 consecutive years since 2013, and succeeded in making local contracts of USD 430 million in 2017 and USD 351 million in 2018.
