Daegu is to host 2023 IFSA World Congress

(DAEGU=Yonhap News) On June 21, Daegu city announced that it is selected as the host city for 2023 IFSA World Congress, a major academic conference in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and intelligent system.

According to Daegu city, the decision was made at international academic conference of the International Fuzzy Systems Association (IFSA) started on June 17 in Lafayette, Louisiana, U.S.

About 500 specialists in fuzzy theory around the world are expected to come to Daegu in 2023, contributing to raising the reputation of Daegu as a smart city, development of related industries in the region.

Professor Lee Jeong-hoon of Hanyang University and professor Yoon Jin-hee of Sejong University, who are members of the Korean Institute of Intelligent Systems (KIIS), and Daegu Convention Bureau staff actively promoted the city to attract the Congress.

Professor Lee emphasized that Daegu is home to various government agencies related with information systems such as National Information Society Agency and Korea Institute for Robot Industry Advancement in a presentation.

The IFSA World Congress takes place every two years, organized by the IFSA, which have members from 50 countries around the world. "
