DAEGU, Oct. 17 (Yonhap) -- The city of Daeugu made a public announcement that they joined 2019 Global Sources Electronics at Asia World Expo to help local medical industry boost market expansion into the world and made a great success this time.
The city, Kyungbook National University and Institute of Advanced Convergence Technology brought 14 local businesses to take part in the 2019 Global Sources Electronics last Oct 11-14. These participants have put up a 'Korea Pavilion' where local enterprises come together to publicize their products and services.
They also ran multiple programs - business meeting, a briefing session for FDI, media-based promotional events - under the theme of 'Innovation to improve quality of life'.
Thanks to this flagship fair, exhibitors from Daegu city reached 326 cases of investment contracts, worth approximately KRW 130 million in total with buyers all around the world.
The expo featured over 4,000 booths within 10 exhibition halls(7,000m2), inviting 30,000 foreign visitors from 148 countries worldwide.
The city of Daegu says "We can say it's a real success amid ongoing anti- government protests in Hong Kong that have rocked the place for months. The city will keep working on providing subsequent caring service for the participants to accomplish desired outcome."
