Daegu city’s smart projects were selected to further advance medical innovation and IoT sensoring technology

The city of Daegu announced on May 11 that a couple of municipal projects, as part of national open contests of “2021 smart project to build out the technology base” led by Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy was finally selected.
With a focus on IoT and healthcare applications, the city rolled out business support initiatives to scale up medical implants business and IoT sensors.
With a KRW 17.2 billion worth of national budget, the city will help medical products suppliers move into Medicalley within Daegu Innovation City district and release over 30 new cases of product development, by forming a business alliance with Kyungpook National University, Daegu-Gyeongbuk Medical Innovation Foundation and Daegu Mechatronics & Materials Institute until 2023.

In an attempt to further advance IoT sensor technology, Kyungpook National University, Korea Conformity Laboratories and Daegu Technopark jointly set out a plan to adopt IoT sensoring applications embedded across city infrastructure.
