KEC to select water technology companies to work in water cluster
An affiliate of the environment ministry, Korea Environment Corporation (KEC) is now looking for potential candidates of the authority-led “Water Campus” project, designed to pick and support water technology companies.
With its main sponsors, the Ministry of Environment and KEC, Korea Water Cluster (KWC), located near Dalseong-gun in Daegu city as part of the state-owned industry facilities, was formed to support the entire phases of business cycle from research and development, merchandising to marketing overseas. Currently nearly 60 water businesses reside within the cluster.
The opening of the candidacy for the project, which comes to an end on Nov 23, is available in three sectors – water reuse and recycling, black and gray water management and water supply network. Two selectees for each (six in total) will benefit from the support package over the next three years.
Applicants must be registered as small or mid-size enterprises (SMEs) and anyone who has innovative ideas technologically and commercially verifiable at testing ground equipped in the cluster can click on KEC’s official website and download application forms to be submitted.
Once fill out the necessary document, candidates can send the forms via watercluster@keco.or.kr or by mail.
Going through candidates screening and selection process to evaluate business competence and tech-capability, KEC picks the finalists and posts an announcement onto the website, www.keco.or.kr in early December.
The selectees are provided with a full package of financial and administrative aids. The cost for facility construction to test ideas will be partly covered. With a mentoring service, these candidates can work with tech-advisors who’ll take the role of quality inspector to further improve product performance. Rents for tenants, utility bills and other expenses to run business will be cut.
