DAEGU < invest Korea

According to Yonhap News,

Auto-machine parts makers in Daegu city and North Gyeongsang Province has kicked started exploring new sales channels across countries situated north of the Korean Peninsula, encompassing Russia, Mongolia and other parts of central Asia and even Eurasian countries.

Daegu Gyeongbuk Machinery Cooperative (DGMC) reported on Apr 29 that the businesses have opened a web-based virtual trade fair mainly targeting markets in Kazakhstan (Apr 17-18) and Uzbekistan (Apr 21-22) twice this year and reached USD 39 million worth of trade contract with potential partners.

In order to avoid any possible COVID-19 infections caused by in-person transaction, DGMC has provided with a screenshot of 55 inch large display at the virtual exhibition, separately set up booths (3m x 3m) and laptops, letting attendees worldwide come and see technology expertise of Korean manufacturers.

16 locally based businesses have raised USD 39.4 million worth of trade contracts with Uzbekistan buyers, whereas 14 have signed USD 8.2 million deal with Kazakhstan counterparts.
