Daegu City is set to focus on fostering the electric vehicle motor industry as a new growth engine.
The city announced on October 7 that it will create an electric vehicle motor valley in Dalseong-gun National Industrial Complex by 2027 with an investment of KRW 300 billion.
The electric vehicle motor valley will be composed of a complex bringing together relevant companies, an electric car motor innovation center, and test/certification/commercialization support facilities.
It will also support the development of original technologies, and advancement of innovative technologies for materials and parts.
With the creation of the electric vehicle motor valley, the city aims to create 6,100 jobs and achieve KRW 1.8 trillion sales by 2030.
Daegu's mayor said, "At the turning point of the industry in which demand for eco-friendly car parts skyrocketing provoked by the declaration of carbon neutrality, Daegu will provide every support to be a leader of electric car motor market home and abroad."
