The 4th World Cultural Industry Forum (WCIF), a 2-day cultural industry event, kicks off on June 14 at Hotel Susung in Daegu.

The opening ceremony was attended by WCIF Chairman Lee Jang-woo, Governor of Education of Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education Kang Eun-hee, Daegu Metropolitan Council Chairman Lee Man-gyu, Head of the district office in Suseong-gu Kim Dae-kwon, and Daegu City Administration Mayor Kim Jong-han.

Chairman Lee Jang-woo said in his statement, "Taking this opportunity, I expect all of you, contents producers from the East and the West, business leaders and experts will interact and cooperate with each other to make a significant contribution to making big strides in the global cultural industry."

The forum will convene major entertainment companies from both home and abroad, high-ranking figures from 10 ASEAN countries, and popular and young contents creators.

In the first day, the forum begins with an opening session that will be followed by 'Indonesia Night' and 'Special Talks: Creative Economy with ASEAN Young People'.

In the following day, various events will be provided under the theme of 'Humanity and Sustainability'. Meanwhile, a special speech by former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and a keynote speech by former chief producer of SM Entertainment Lee Soo-man will make the forum much informative and rich.

WCIF is organized by the Korea Cultural Industry Forum and jointly hosted by MCST, local governments of Daegu city and suseong-gu.
