According to Yonhap News,

On August 10, Daegu-si announced that it will host the "FIRA RoboWorld Cup & Summit 2025" at Daegu EXCO on August 11-15.

The RoboWorld Cup will see over 900 robotics experts from 17 countries, including the United States, Canada, China, and Iran, competing in 46 events across four leagues, including the Sports League and Challenge League, using robots the participants have programmed themselves.

The Summit will bring together about 250 domestic and international robotics researchers and students to discuss policy proposals related to robotics and artificial intelligence (AI), as well as international technology standards.

In addition, the "2025 International Robot Olympiad Korea National Finals" will be held concurrently at EXCO during August 11-14.

A total of 1,300 students from 766 teams from across the country, including elementary, middle, and high school students, will compete in 10 events across 29 categories, including AI autonomous driving and robot athletics. The top performers will earn the right to participate in the World Finals to be held in Australia in December.

A city official stated, "This event will provide a platform for exchanging ideas among future robotics industry leaders, and we aim to further strengthen Daegu’s position as the global hub for robotics."
