According to Yonhap News,

On September 9th, Suseong-gu, Daegu-si announced that it has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) for media art exchange cooperation with ZKM (Zentrum für Kunst und Medien), located in Karlsruhe, Germany.

ZKM is one of the world’s largest media art center, leading the convergence of art, science, and technology, and is recognized for its unique position in the global media art field.

The signing of this LOI aims to establish an international exchange and cooperation system in the media art field, with discussions planned around the creation of the Yeonho District Media Art Museum and the establishment of a platform for discovering emerging artists in Korea.

Through cooperation with ZKM, the Suseong-gu plans to build the Yeonho District Media Art Museum as not just an exhibition hall, but also as a launchpad for discovering emerging artists and helping them reach the global stage. Additionally, the museum will serve as an innovative platform that integrates art, science, and technology.

Alistair Hudson, Director of ZKM, expressed expectations, saying, "The collaboration with Suseong-gu will be a new model where art, technology, and the local community meet."

Mayor of Suseong-gu stated, "The collaboration with ZKM will become a cultural and economic asset for future generations and will enhance the city’s ability to attract people in an era of population decline."
