On September 16, Daegu-si announced that it has selected 13 "2025 Star Enterprises" that will lead the regional economy and future industries.

These companies were selected after a three-month uation process, including written reviews, presentations, and comprehensive assessments. Among them, two companies were chosen as "Powerful Star Enterprises": CIS and Isu Petasys.

CIS, a company in the secondary battery sector, has grown into a mid-sized company after successfully going public (IPO) following its selection as a Star Enterprise. It is now recognized as a successful model for the Star Enterprise development program.

Isu Petasys, a semiconductor company, ranks first in market capitalization among listed companies in Daegu.

As of 2024, the average sales of these two companies are recorded at KRW 613.6 billion, with 850 employees. They plan to invest approximately KRW 150.9 billion in the region by 2027.

Other Star Enterprises include six promising regional small and medium-sized companies with technological expertise and growth potential: Daegyeong Robotech, Lexco, Vision Science, UND, Hivac, and Korea Park Golf.

There were also five Pre-Star Enterprises named including Gwangjin Metal.

Daegu-si plans to support these 13 newly selected companies, as well as existing Star Enterprises, with business funds for technology development, investment attraction, and overseas expansion. It will also provide expert advisory support to quickly address any difficulties these companies may face.

A city official stated, "The 13 newly selected Star Enterprises have the potential to reshape the industrial landscape of Daegu. We will do our best to help them grow into representative companies that drive local employment and the economy."
