Daegu City held an emergency meeting with district and county transportation department heads on the 13th to discuss measures to strengthen safety management at 217 bus stops located on roads without sidewalks, out of a total of 3,420 city bus stops.
By September, Daegu City, in joint collaboration with district and county authorities, plans to conduct a comprehensive on-site survey of these bus stops. Based on field conditions, they will prioritize installing safety features such as flexible bollards, road markings, and luminous road studs to improve visibility for both pedestrians and drivers.
In the long term, the city plans to create a safer environment for bus stop users through road redevelopment, sidewalk installation, and bus stop relocation.
