According to Yonhap News,
Daegu City said on January 28th that it will operate ‘an accommodation reservation center’ from February 1st to December in preparation for IAAF World Championships Daegu 2011 and the Visit Daegu Year 2011.
The center aims to provide swift and precise information and reserve high-quality accommodations at a mid-price range instead of tourist hotels.
Also, the center is expected to remove the inconveniences of visitors.
Visitors can make a quick reservation through ‘the accommodation reservation center (053-255-1600)’ or the homepage of GreenStel, and get information on accommodations and restaurants.
Daegu City has designated clean and exemplary accommodations as greenstels and provided administrative and financial support since December 2009 to nurture the accommodation industry.
Greenstel is a new compound word of green, connotation for low carbon and green growth, and hostel.
An official of Daegu said “there were many problems related to group reservation for accommodations during last year’s World Firefighters Games 2010, so we have decided to run a reservation center to make sure visitors to Daegu will have a pleasant stay in the City,” and added “we will cooperate closely with relevant agencies to eliminate any inconveniences.”
