The number of passengers of Daegu International Airport has skyrocketed this year.
According to Daegu International Airport on February 10th, the number of passengers of Daegu International Airport was 90,892 in January, a 5% increase from last year. The number of international flight passengers was 15,083, a 71% rise from last year’s 8,822.
The total of 2,003 people took international flights during New Year holidays, which were longer than last year, and the figure is 40% more than last year’s 1,423.
Team leader Choi Byeong-gi of Daegu Office of Korea Airports Corporation said “we started new international lines and lowered the parking fees at the airport for January and New Year holidays, a high season for the tourism industry, which contributed to the increase in demand.”
Daegu International Airport is committed to starting new international flights and improving customer services, as Daegu celebrates Visit Daegu Year and hosts IAAF World Championships Daegu in 2011.
