According to Yonhap News,

Investment promotion advisers in Daegu city will lead the efforts to attract promising and large companies.

Daegu city said on April 23rd that it will appoint 36 experts home and abroad in the investment promotion sector as the city’s advisers and hold a strategic meeting to attract corporate investment in the city.

The city plans to maintain its recent momentum in drawing investment from large companies such as the joint venture of Samsung LED and Sumitomo Chemical, and IHL, a subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Company.

The appointed advisers are former senior officers of large companies, foreigners, consulting experts, international lawyers, and officials of financial institutes and have abundant experience in investment promotion. Those professionals have an extensive human network with key promising companies.

Accordingly, they will be divided into five groups: foreign capital promotion; machinery, automobiles, metal, and services; green energy and materials; IT convergence and mechatronics; former large company officials and experts. Those groups will jointly conduct investment promotion activities home and abroad along with five teams of the Daegu Investment Promotion Division.

Also, they will focus on identifying and analyzing target companies, since professional knowledge on new business sectors is needed, following the continued new investment in the promising industries by global companies.

Daegu has expanded and reorganized its Investment Promotion Division into four teams designated in investment promotion and one team that supports the other teams.

Director Kim Jong-chan of the Investment Promotion Division of Daegu said “we plan to provide full support for the advisers so that they can passionately work and grant incentives under the ordinances.”
