According to Yonhap News,
Daegu was selected as the host city of the 2015 Asia Pacific Chapter Meeting of the International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis (2015 APCM-ISPD) during the 14th APCM-ISPD held in Kuala Lump, Malaysia from September 4 to 12.
About 1,500 medical professors, doctors, pharmacists and biologists from 30 countries will attend the meeting.
The APCM-ISPD will be a good opportunity for Daegu to elevate its status as a Medi-City, the city expects.
In order to promote the meeting, the city plans to operate promotion booths at the 2013 APCM-ISPD, scheduled to be held in Taiwan.
"Relentless efforts of staffs from Kyungpook National University Hospital and Daegu Convention & Visitors Bureau contributed to Daegu being selected as a host city of the meeting. This will be a stepping stone to the development of Daegu's medical industry," said Hong Seok-jin, director of medical industry department of Daegu.
