World Energy Congress 2013, Daegu Korea Holds Best Paper Contest on Energy

According to Yonhap News,

The organizing committee of the 22nd World Energy Congress 2013, Daegu Korea and the World Energy Council will hold the Best Paper Contest under the six themes.

The themes include Global Energy Scenario, Energy Resources and Technology, Triple Whammy of Energy Policy: Energy Security, Balanced Energy Supply and Environmental Impact, Increasing Access to Energy: Water, Energy and Food, Innovation of Energy and City and Global Energy Framework and Governance.

Papers should be submitted by March 31. The six best papers will be selected and announced in July 15 after passing the first and second round of evaluations.

The organizing committee will offer prizes of USD 60,000 for the six chosen authors, sponsored by Daesung Group.

The awarding ceremony will be held at the 22nd World Energy Congress 2013, Daegu Korea, scheduled to be held from October 13 to 17.

"World-prominent energy experts will participate in the congress," said Kim Yeong-hun, CEO of Daesung Group, who also serves as the acting commissioner of the organizing committee. "We are looking forward to many excellent and creative papers dealing with the current energy issues."

Christopher Fry, Secretary General of the World Energy Council, also said, "The importance of innovative ideas to address the energy challenges is getting important than ever before."
