Suseong-gu (District) and Dalseong-gun (County) in Daegu-si (City) signed a cooperation memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Cheongdo-gun (County) in Gyeongsangbuk-do (Province) to establish an MRC tourism industry belt that combines medical treatment (oriental medicine), recreation and experience.

Suseong-gu is home to about 200 oriental medical clinics and hospitals including Daegu Haany University, while Dalseong-gun has many recreation facilities including recreational forests and oriental spa.

Cheondo is also well-known for many tourist attractions including Bull Fighting Festival and Wine Tunnel.

According to the MOU, they will set up a joint group to develop tour programs and launch marketing.

"The cooperation project will be a new model for local governments to secure competitiveness in the tourism industry by utilizing their individual own strength,” said Song. In-Seop, President of Daegu Technopark.
