The 12th Daegu International Optical Show (DIOPS) will be held at the Daegu Exhibition & Convention Center (EXCO) from April 17 to 19.

The event, co-organized by the Korea Optical Industry Support Center (KOISC) and the Korea Optometric Association, will draw 16,800 visitors, including 800 foreigners.

This year’s event focuses on inviting buyers from advanced countries and emerging nations to promote domestic companies, expand the market, and boost domestic demand. Executives from major companies in France, China, India, Thailand, Taiwan, and Singapore will attend.

Confirmed participants include Baodao, the largest Chinese eyeglass chain, and GKB, India’s largest eyewear chain. Many optical companies from Japan, China and France will also join the event.

The DIOPS office signed an MOU with Reed Exhibitions, an organizer of America’s Vision Expo, to establish a solid foundation for this event. It aims to attract major American buyers.

Events will include an awards ceremony, international symposiums, international optical conferences, singing performances, and fashion shows.

“We are doing our best to attract big buyers. Foreign firms are highly interested in DIOPS due to the high potential of Korea’s eyewear industry,” said a DIOPS official.
