The organizing committee for the 7th World Water Forum, which will be held in Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province in 2015, has been launched. It will systematically prepare the world’s largest water event, which will be joined by 35,000 people from international organizations and governments in 200 nations.

The Special Act on Supporting World Water Forum 2015 was also enacted last December.

The World Water Forum is the largest international event in the field of water, which aims to raise awareness with decision makers and the public at large on water issues and, subsequently, to generate action.

An inaugural meeting of the committee was attended by 50 committee members and 100 guests from the public and private sectors. The attendees established a policy, elected board members, discussed a business plan and budgets, and agreed to do their best for the success of the World Water Forum Kick-off meeting, which will be held at the Daegu EXCO convention center next month.
