Companies Show Interests in Daegu National Industrial Park

Companies are showing heightened interests in the National Industrial Park, established for the first time in Daegu.

As development of the park builds on momentum and promotion activities of the developers accelerate, inquiries from companies are continued.

Daegu, Korea Land & Housing Corporation (LH) and Daegu Urban Development Corporation (DUCO) are holding promotional activities on a large scale.

At the ground breaking ceremony which will be held next month, politicians, economic experts, entrepreneurs and officials from public agencies are expected to attend, leading to increased interest in the national park from companies.

Daegu plans to attract investment by holding customized investment information and consultations for companies interested in the National Park.

The Daegu National Industrial Park will be developed in a site of 8.548 million m2 with investment of KRW 1.7572 trillion in two phases from 2009 to 2018. LH and DUCO holds and 75 and 25 percent of shares respectively. Daegu plans to supply industrial sites in phases from the second half of this year to help companies that face difficulties find a site can invest.

Mayor of Daegu Kim Beom-il noted that the city will actively promote investment to develop an industrial park that collaborates with other cities for Daegu’s growth and to create more jobs.
