(DAEGU=NEWSIS) Daegu announced Oct. 2 to promote a project that fundamentally blocks out the illegal leakage of startup ideas of the youth and advanced technologies of small and medium-sized companies (SMEs).
According to the National Industry Security Center, 208 cases have been caught trying to illegally leak state-of-the-art technologies in Korea from 2009 to 2013.
It is urgent to prepare measures to protect the leakage as more than 70 percent of the leakage of advanced technologies occurred from SMEs.
There is no protection whatsoever for the leakage of startup ideas of the youth.
Considering the conditions of SMEs and youth startups, Daegu City and the Korean Association for Industrial Technology Security will offer tailored industrial security control infrastructure for free.
Daegu City, the Korean Association for Industrial Technology Security and participating SMEs will invest about KRW 1.4 billion every year in the project for three years.
About 600 participants will benefit from the security control including regional business incubation centers, knowledge industry centers, tenants and SMEs.
