(DAEGU=NEWSIS) The Daegu Chamber of Commerce & Industry announced that Daegu City’s export to Vietnam increased by 21.0 percent in the first half of 2015, becoming the third largest exporter to Vietnam, following China and the United States.

Daegu’s export to Vietnam has increased 4.8 fold over the last decade, an average 18.2 percent increase per annum.

Despite an increase in all export items, export for electric and electronic products has shown an exceptional surge.

The city’s export to Vietnam has increased due to the excellent investment environment of Vietnam, investment from the large-scale Korean companies and the free trade agreement (FTA) between Korea and Vietnam.

It is expected that the trade and investment between the two countries will expand more when the bilateral FTA takes into effect.
