Gwangju to Join China's Top Tour Expo

(GWANGJU=Yonhap News) Gwangju City will participate in the 'China International Travel Mart 2016' held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre in Pudong, Shanghai, China between November 11 to 13, 2016.

The event is China's largest annual tourism exhibition organized by the China National Tourist Office and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government.

Around 2,400 institutions and travel agencies from 105 countries participate in the three-day event, which is expected to draw about 80,000 visitors.

Gwangju will set up an exhibition booth in cooperation with South Jeolla and North Jeolla Province to publicize the region's charm as a tourist spot for Chinese tourists.

The city aims to introduce tourist attractions in the region such as the Asia Culture Center, Yangrim-dong History Culture Village, and Mudeungsan Mountain. Major local festivals including the Gwangju Fringe Festival and the Gwangju World Kimchi Culture Festival will be promoted as well.

Gwangju will also hold international consultation meetings with major travel agencies to boost sales for customized tourism products and promote the city's incentive programs.
