Gwangju to Supply 277 Additional EVs This Year

According to Yonhap News, 


(GWANGJU=Yonhap News) The city of Gwangju announced Aug. 15 that it will be supplying 277 electric vehicles (EVs) in addition to the 100 EVs (95 in the private sector, 5 in the public sector) that have been supplied earlier this year.

Of the 277 EVs, 206 will be supplied for the private sector and the remaining 71 for the public sector.

All Gwangju residents are eligible to apply, as well as business or organizations located in the city.

A total of 7 car types are eligible for support: Kia's Ray and Soul, the Nissan Leaf, Renault Samsung's SM3, the Hyundai Ioniq, the BMW i3, and GM Korea's Bolt.

Residents who wish to apply can do so through the city government website (www.gwangju.go.kr) starting Aug. 16.

Meanwhile, to expand its supply of EVs, the city has already installed some 70 charging station, and plans to install 200 more by the end of the year.
