(GWANGJU=Yonhap News) Biomedical material parts companies of Gwangju Techno Park signed export contracts with Southeast Asian buyers including Vietnam at Senior Medical Industry Fair 2018.

According to Gwangju Techno Park on October 8, the companies attended the only medical industry fair in Honam area and signed export contracts worth USD 30 million with buyers from Southeast Asia including Vietnam and Thailand.

The Fair was attended by 155 companies.

About 60 companies including MAISON, a representative beauty company in Gwangju, were supported by Gwangju and Gwangju Techno Park and presented innovative technologies and related products in "Gwangju Exhibition Hall."

Gwangju Techno Park is developing promotion activities for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to enter Vietnamese market by cooperating with regional institutions.

"I hope the market expansion of the regional firms to Southeast Asian countries will serve as a stepping stone for Gwangju to become a base of biomedical material parts production," said an official of Gwangju Techno Park. "We will continue to support regional medical industry to grow as export-oriented industry."
