(GWANGJU=Yonhap News) Gwangju City said on 6th that it will jointly host the Korea-Taiwan celebrity baseball event on the coming 9th in Taiwan with South and North Jeolla provinces.

The three cities and provinces launched the new type of tourist attraction promotion that combines Hallyu and baseball game, precisely targetting Taiwan.

The number of Taiwanese tourists who visited Korea for the first time this year exceeded one million.

A Korean celebrity baseball team named 'Jomma Jomma,' and 'Sunstar,' a Taiwanese team comprised of top Taiwanese players will play in the friendly game.

Promotion videos of Jeolla province will be on the public display boards. Other regions' promotion videos will on screen when exchanging sides.

In addition, an exhibition center will be established to promote various attractions of Jeolla provinces.

Following the match in Taiwan, Gwangju City plans to host a return match with Sunstar in Gwangju. It also plans to attract tourists by developing tour packages of Jeolla provinces aimed at Taiwanese fans.
