According to Yonhap News,

The city of Gwangju announced on Jul 8 a stimulus measure designed to enhance business capacity, mainly targeting auto-part makers whose workers have been furloughed for months due to the coronavirus calamity.

Taking numerical data, which signifies that the city’s market share for auto-parts manufacturing is mere 3.6 percent, into full consideration, the authorities have started to push on the first phase of the project from the period 2015 to 2019. The second step which will be underway this year and cost KRW 5 billion over the next five years aims mainly to support the (sub-) subcontractors of local auto-component producers.

The support scheme covers a comprehensive range, which extends from quality inspection, accreditation, cost-cutting solutions to pilot products designing and testing etc. the city government put ways to improve business capability top of agenda.
