Gwangju station, situated near Buk-gu in Gwangju city, has been picked out as the best possible candidate to form what’s called ‘Green Startup Town’, designed by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, raising expectations that the nomination is highly likely to bring urban revival. The SME ministry’s startup town construction project aims to facilitate startup ecosystem to drive innovation, by which the town can bring vigor into community economy and to further enhance national industry competitiveness.
Specifically, the plan entails; fostering 130 startups; attracting KRW 10 billion worth of investments; and helping developing innovative technologies (45), thereby contributing to attaining the goals prescribed in the Green and Digital New Deal policies.
Spending nearly KRW 35 billion, the municipal authorities build up a six-story (with double basements) building across 3,500㎡ site (gross area: 6000㎡).
