According to Newsis,

The SMEs and Startup Agency Gwangju-Jeonnam Office made an announcement of the formation of what’s called ‘Maker Space’, a publicly accessible open space fully equipped with manufacturing facilities and tools for creative production on May 26. The agency rolled out a plan to add 28 maker spaces across Gwangju, South Jeolla Province and Jeju Island and said they’re looking for potential candidates to join the project until June 14.

Such manufacturing spaces are currently being operated in 192 districts nationwide. This year, in particular, the agency is set to double the scale to promote entrepreneurship and manufacturing in the communities, funneling KRW 1.5 billion worth of funds into equipment purchasing, construction and facility operation.

Anyone interested in the project can click on www.mss.go.kr and www.k-startup.go.kr. Candidates can submit the application form online via K- startup website. The application deadline is June 14 (5 p.m.).
