The 12th International Climate and Environment Fair, the largest environmental exhibition in Honam area, opened on August 25 at Gwangju Kimdaejung Convention Center.

The Fair, hosted by Gwangju City and Jeollanam-do and organized by the Kimdaejung Convention Center, KOTRA, and Korea Commission for Corporate Partnership, is scheduled until August 27.

About 100 organizations and companies including Gwangju Regional Office of Meteorology, Korea Air Safety Institute, Environmental Corporation of Gwangju, Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology, Kia, Carbon Hexa, and Purium are planned to operate 230 booths.

There will be exhibition and sales of new future environmental technologies and products such as carbon neutrality, resource circulation, water treatment, and response to climate change.

Meanwhile, KOTRA will organize business meetings through video conference, in which 15 companies from 8 countries, including India, Chile, and Vietnam, participate.

In addition, various events including a conference of large, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), ESG (environmental, social, and governance) briefing session hosted by the Korea Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises will also be held.

Gwangju's mayor said, "It is a place for win-win cooperation to prepare for a sustainable future and a place for companies, institutions, and experts to share wisdom on topics related to the environment," adding "I hope the Fair will provide opportunities to pioneer companies to open up new sales channels and expand exports."
