Gwangju City held an online IR session with local companies in Silicon Valley, USA at the Kimdaejung Convention Center in Gwangju on August 31.

The IR session was prepared to support Gwangju's AI companies to advance into Silicon Valley.

This non face-to-face event, held online with Silicon Valley, was attended by five outstanding investors, including Gideon Marks, mentor of Plug and Play, a leading Silicon Valley startup investment institution, and Jim Connor of Sand Hill Angel.

The 14 AI companies participated in the event had been preparing to advance into Silicon Valley by taking part in the capacity building program for the past three months.

The final five companies selected through this event will visit Silicon Valley in October and attract investment from local investors and partners.

The city has built networks with Silicon Valley companies and helped local AI companies attract investments since 2019.

To date, eight companies have succeeded in attracting investment worth KRW 9 billion.
