According to Yonhap News,

The project for building a citizen RE100 (renewable energy 100%) platform for carbon neutrality, promoted jointly by Daegu-si and Gwangju-si was selected for a public contest hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

It is to establish an efficient management system by sharing experiences and information about Daegu's 'Solar Power Plant Expansion Policy' and Gwangju's 'Energy Conversion Village Establishment Project'.

The purpose of the two cities is to cooperate on realizing citizens-led carbon neutrality. By winning this contest, Daegu and Gwangju will each receive KRW 500 million government funding.

Daegu and Gwangju are strengthening Dalbit (Dalgubeol and Bitgoeul) cooperation.

The representative examples include the bid to jointly host the 2038 Daegu-Gwangju Asian Games and the construction of Daegu-Gwangju Dalbit Express Railway.
