According to Yonhap News,
The scale of the government-funded projects that Gwangju Techno Park has attracted is growing every year.
Gwangju Techno Park announced on July 7 that the annual amount of government funds it attracted has been on the rise: the annual average of KRW 40 billion in 2015-2019; KRW 132.3 billion in 2020; and KRW 189.5 billion last year.
This year, it has been confirmed to go ahead with projects worth KRW 73.5 billion in the first half alone, including the establishment of a joint research and utilization center for industrial-type intelligent distributed energy companies (KRW 21.1 billion) and the establishment of a platform to support commercialization to nurture the AI home appliance industry (KRW 16.9 billion).
In the second half of the year, it has set out to attract 26 projects, including the establishment of national medical AI service and an industrial ecosystem (KRW 42.8 billion). Considering some projects that seem to be certain, Gwangju Techno Park expects that it would attract projects worth more than 200 billion, exceeding last year's performance.
