According to Yonhap News,

Shelters for the mobile workforce such as couriers were set up at Gwangju Metropolitan City Hall and other affiliate institutions.

Gwangju-si announced on Nov. 30 that as many as 34 public shelters for the mobile workforce were established at 13 institutions, including the Gwangju Metropolitan City Hall, Gwangju Metropolitan City Corporation, Gwangju Metropolitan Rapid Transit Corporation, and KimDaejung Convention Center.

The shelters will be open to operate starting from Dec. 1, and any workers of the mobile workforce, who need to stay for long hours outdoors, are able to use the rest area with a lounge and lobby.

Back in 2018, the city once opened 'Dalbit Shelter' in Sangmoo District, but criticism grew over its lack of accessibility, etc.

Kim Yong-man, Chairman of the Gwangju Labor Policy, said, "the project is carried out to make open and develop public areas," adding, "the shelters are expected to serve as areas to keep workers healthy in the heat."
