According to Yonhap News,

As Shinsegae Property submitted a proposal, the project for building Gwangju complex shopping mall has diversified in aspects.

Gwangju-si unveiled the original copy of the Grand Starfield Gwangju complex shopping mall project proposal submitted by Shinsegae Property via the city's website on the previous day.

The city is slated to start an overall review through the 'Complex Shopping mall Revitalization Administrative Consultative Body.

After Gwangju officially started accepting project plans on Sep. 7, Hyundai Department Group submitted the plan on Nov. 18, and Shinsegae Property did on Dec. 28, speeding up the project.

The ways of reviewing and building The Hyundai and Starfields share similarities but differences at the same time.

Gwangju Mayor Kang ki-jung mentioned, "The development of Eodeung-san mountain has seen not much progress due to the limitations in profitability and the way of development.

A Gwangju official said, "We delivered our intention to Lotte that we would soon turn in the project proposal," saying, "The city is consistent in its stance that the market decides whether a series of shopping malls should be built or not."
