The local government of Gwangju city laid out its tourism blueprint with a goal of attracting 30 million visitors to the city within its mayor term.

Gwangju held 'the First Gwangju Tourism Vitalization Committee' on May 11 and delivered a presentation on "Innovation Projects on Gwangju Tourism".

Under the vision of "Fun and Energetic City, Exciting Gwangju", it set 3 major strategies and 6 specific tasks, aiming at recording 30 million city users.

The 6 tasks include ▲ fostering city of festival, ▲ boosting vitalization by connecting MICE and tourism, ▲ upgrading tourism contents featuring unique stories, ▲ developing new tourism sites to enhance its reputation, ▲ developing and branding representative tourism products in Gwangju, ▲ developing various PR tools to induce visitors.

Gwangju Deputy Mayor for Administrative Affairs Moon Young Hoon said, "We will turn Gwangju into a global tourism destination by implementing sustainable policies while establishing impactful tourism infrastructures and unique contents."
