According to Yonhap News,

About 8,000 dental technicians from around the world will gather in Gwangju in July next year.

Gwangju Metropolitan Government said on October 2 that the 2024 Korea Dental Technologies Expo & Scientific Conference (KDTEX) will be held at the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center in Gwangju on July 12-24 next year.

Backed by the Gwangju Tourism Organization, the Gwangju Dental Technologist Association attracted the KDTEX, after competing with Daejeon and Busan, based on its strengths such as strategies to foster the local dental medical industry and connect with tourism programs.

Gwangju-si established a division in charge of medical in July this year and has been promoting related industries in such ways as the creation of a medical specialized industrial complex.

Gwangju -si expects that the KDTEX will be attended by about 8,000 people, including 100 foreign buyers.

An official from the Gwangju Metropolitan Government said, "The medical healthcare industry has a huge potential for growth as a regional strategic industry," adding, "we will use the KDTEX as an opportunity to emerge as the center of the dental medical industry."
